Help Shawn Simard in His Recovery from Traumatic Brain Injury

About Shawn and His Brain Injury

Traumatic brain injury is a debilitating condition that significantly impacts the lives of victims and their families.

Shawn is  37 years old, husband to Rebecca and father of his two lovely daughters, Nina and Kaylee. He is a long time employee of Halton Peel Natural Gas Services in Mississauga.

Shawn is also the pitcher for the Rusty Red Falcons, the Tier 1 Softball team which is annually sponsored by Roger R. Foisy Professional Corporation.

On October 5th, 2017, Shawn was riding his motorcycle on Derry Road and suffered a severe motor vehicle accident, resulting in a traumatic brain injury, among other injuries.

He was immediately taken to Sunnybrook Trauma Centre in Toronto and has been put into a medically-induced coma. At this point, his family is unsure of what to expect once he awakens, including the severity of his injuries.

Rehabilitation from traumatic brain injury is a long and difficult process, often requiring many specialists. Regardless of the results, Shawn is expected to be unable to work for a long time as he undergoes treatment and fights to recover.

We wish to stand next to Shawn and help him with his recovery.

To help with this important rehabilitation, the team at this firm is holding a Toronto Maple Leafs ticket raffle to raise money.

We are raffling two gold seats (Face Value totaling $950) for the Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators game on January 10, 2018 at the Air Canada Centre. Shawn’s softball teammates from the Rusty Red Falcons will be helping to sell the raffle tickets for the 2 Gold Level Seats.
