Comminuted Fracture of the Humeral Head

A comminuted fracture of the humeral head results in a break or splinter of the bone into more than two fragments. Fractures of this degree are often caused by considerable force and energy, and are common in motor vehicle accidents. Common symptoms include shoulder pain and limited mobility of the injured shoulder.
