A calcaneus fracture is a fracture to the heel bone. Calcaneus fractures are often caused by high energy events such as motor vehicle accidents or falls from great heights, which can crush the heel. Common symptoms include: pain, bruising, swelling, heel deformity, and an inability to put weight on the heel.
