LAT – The Licence Appeal Tribunal
It can be frustrating when you receive a decision from your insurance company regarding your accident benefits entitlement and find that you disagree with the conclusion they have made. The Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT) is an autonomous, quasi-judicial agency that reviews applications and resolves disputes regarding compensation claims and licensing activities.
Composed of two divisions, General Service and the Automobile Accident Benefits Service (AABS), the LAT offers adjudicators who can review your appeal and resolve disputes between the claimant and the insurance provider.
It is strongly recommended that you obtain the services of a legal representative when you appear before the LAT. The more serious your injuries, the more prudent it is to hire an experienced lawyer who can appear before the LAT to argue any dispute, especially regarding catastrophic impairment.
